大学では言語学を専攻し、映像と言語の関連性への関心にもとづく写真を制作しはじめる。また、大学在学中から自然光をサンプリングし、それを再構築したヴィデオや写真を発表。光そのものとしての映像作品を制作している。
初期の作品 “Echo of Reality”では、映像の画面内の1ピクセルが持つ情報だけを拡大すると、色彩と明度の変化のみが見える。映像というメディアは詰まるところ、色彩と明度を持った多くの光の粒子の運動にすぎない。粒子の集合体が相対的に関係することで「何か」を表象しているから 、私たちはそれを「 何か 」であると認識するのである。“ Echo of Reality”は、自然現象としての炎の有様を、「映像」としてではなく「光と音の現象」として再表出させることで、映像のデバイスを用いながらも、通常の「映像」が表現し得ないリアリティーを顕在化させる試みを行なっている。
本展では、Flatland という新たなシリーズを展開している。

「私がこのシリーズの制作を始めたのは、仕事が多忙になり、車での移動中にしか作品に費やす時間がなくなった3年前からである。その頃住んでいた丹波篠山から職場のある高槻まで、片道 70km、信号や低速車に引っかかることなくスムーズに走っても90分の道のりであった。そのため日の出前から走り始めることも多く、刻々と変化する太陽光の色彩と田園風景の美しいスペクタクルの中を日々移動していた。その頃の私にとって、その時間だけが、過去の作品で扱ってきた光と再会できるような、心躍る時間だった。
真冬のある日、日の出前の空の色づき（After Glow ならぬ Before Glow である）を見ようと、見晴らしの良いところに車を停めていた。黒い車体の光沢面を、オレンジ～藍色のグラデーションが幾本もの川のようになぞっていく。色づく空と、それを反射する金属の光沢面以外は漆黒の闇である。闇がこの二つの空間をつないでいるような錯覚に陥る。物理的に隔てられた二つの空間という、次元を超越して輝く色彩。触ることのできない空の光が、冷たい金属の2次元曲面の中に生捕りにされる。ちょうど車に積んでいたマクロレンズで、この反射光を撮影したのが「Flatland」シリーズの一枚目である。車のボディーという二次元曲面に凝縮された、言語化不能な世界に与えられる一つの翻訳であり、私が対峙した越境感覚の記録である」

In the early work "Echo of Reality," when enlarging only the information contained in one pixel on the screen, only changes in color and brightness are visible. Ultimately, the medium of video is nothing more than the movement of many particles of light with color and brightness. Representing "something" through the relative relationship of particle aggregates, we recognize it as "something." "Echo of Reality" attempts to manifest the reality that traditional "video" cannot express, by representing the appearance of flames as a "phenomenon of light and sound" rather than as "video," while using video devices.
In this exhibition, a new series titled "Flatland" is being developed. Below is the artist's statement: "I began creating this series three years ago when my work became busy, and I only had time to work on my art during my commute by car. At that time, commuting from Tanba Sasayama, where I lived, to Takatsuki, where my workplace was located, was a 70 km one-way trip, taking 90 minutes to travel smoothly without getting caught in traffic lights or slow-moving vehicles. Therefore, I often started driving before sunrise, moving daily through the beautiful spectacle of changing sunlight colors and rural landscapes. For me at that time, that time alone was an exhilarating time when I could reunite with the light I had dealt with in my past works.
One winter day, I parked my car in a place with a good view to see the color of the sky before sunrise (which I call Before Glow instead of After Glow). The glossy surface of the black car body traced multiple gradients from orange to blue like rivers. Except for the coloring sky and the metallic glossy surface reflecting it, everything else was pitch black darkness. It creates an illusion as if the darkness connects these two spaces. A transcendent dimension of shining colors physically separated by two spaces. The untouchable light of the sky captured within the cold metallic two-dimensional surface. Using a macro lens I had in my car, I captured this reflected light, which became the first piece of the "Flatland" series. It is a translation given to the inexplicable world condensed into the two-dimensional surface of the car body, a record of the transcendent feeling I confronted."
